Eyeliner Pre & Post Care
We reserve the right to deny service to anyone at our discretion. If you have or have had any of the following contraindicative conditions, please contact us before scheduling an appointment to ensure you are a candidate. Diagnosed conditions that are waived may require a doctor's note stating their approval.
Contraindicative conditions:
If you have had any type of eye surgery, including cataract, Lasik, or blepharoplasty, you must consult your physician and get approval prior to the procedure. Most physicians require 3-9 months before you can have your eyeliner done. This is because there is slight pressure and stretching on and around the eye during the procedure.

For your eyeliner to heal correctly and look its best, the Pre & Post Care Instructions below are of the UTMOST IMPORTANCE! Pre-Care instructions are designed to limit bleeding and skin sensitivities during the service. Excessive bleeding during the procedure will dilute the pigment color and lead to poor results!
Attention Please: We strongly advise prospective new clients to book their appointments at least three to four months in advance of vacations, weddings, and special occasions. This allows adequate time to heal from your initial procedure and the Enhancement Session 6-12 weeks after your procedure. Your dream eyeliner cannot be achieved in just one session! Some clients may require more than two sessions to achieve their desired density and shape.
EYELINER PRE-CARE
Arrive WITHOUT any eye makeup or eyelashes on.
Remove eyelash extensions one week before the eyeliner procedure.
Discontinue Latisse and any other lash growth serum for a minimum of four weeks prior.
No lash tinting, lifting, perming, or curling for a minimum of one week prior.
If you wear contacts, please do not wear them to your appointment and refrain from wearing them for a minimum of 24 hours after the procedure is finished.
Do not work out 48 hours before the procedure.
NO alcohol or caffeine 48 hours before the procedure, and yes, there is caffeine in decaf coffee and tea!
Avoid sun and tanning on your face two weeks before the procedure.
Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, or Advil/Ibuprofen 48 hours before the procedure.
Avoid Fish Oil, Prenatal Vitamins, Nutritional Shakes, and any hair, skin, or nail supplements two weeks before the procedure.
Discontinue Retin-A, Chemical and Laser Peels, Microdermabrasions, Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), and any chemical exfoliant or "brightening" skincare at least six weeks prior. Once your brows have fully healed, you must cover your brow tattoo with Vaseline before using these products on the forehead area to prevent premature fading.
It is recommended to begin taking Arnica or bromelain one week before the procedure.
Please Note: You will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.
EYELINER POST-CARE
**We recommend having someone drive you home after the procedure.**
FOR 14 DAYS FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURE:
Apply A&D ointment sparingly five times a day for ten days following the procedure, using a clean cotton swab, not your fingertips. Use ONLY A&D ointment.
Do not rub or pick at the epithelial crust. Allow it to flake off on its own. There should be absolutely no scrubbing, no cleansing creams, exfoliants, or chemicals. Gently cleanse the intradermal cosmetic area with mild soap after FIVE days. You may rinse with water and lightly pat the area dry. Do not expose the treated area to the full pressure of the water in the shower.
Do not soak the treated area in the bath, swimming pool, or hot tub. Do not swim in fresh, salt, or chlorinated pool water.
Do not expose the treated area to the sun.
Use a total sunblock after the procedure area has healed to prevent future fading of pigment color.
Eyelash enhancement tattoo clients only: Do not use mascara or eyelash curler for seven days post-procedure. When you resume use, purchase a new tube as the old tube may have bacteria in it.
Use sterile bandages and dressing when necessary.
Expect moderate swelling, usually one to three days following the eyeliner procedure. While healing, the eyeliner tattoo will look spotty. This is due to healing skin regeneration. Healed eyeliner will fade up to 50%. Multiple sessions may be required to achieve the desired results.
Protect your investment after you've healed!
Exposure to the sun and tanning beds will cause premature fading and discoloration of the pigment.
For further sun protection, wear hats, sunglasses, and stay in the shade!
Yearly touch-ups are recommended to maintain your results.
The above Pre & Post Care Instructions for eyeliner will affect how quickly or slowly you heal. Age, poor diet, stress, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, general health, and sleep/fatigue are all factors. The more tired you are, the lower your immune system is and infection is more likely to occur. Please get plenty of rest and drink lots of water to hydrate before your procedure!
We have a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for those who fail to follow our Pre & Post Care Instructions. Failing to follow the above instructions will result in your HAUS OF BEAUTY artist denying your service and possible future services. There are no implied or written guarantees, especially if you do not follow the provided instructions!
